This cycle's international destination was Sydney, Australia, this series first visit to Oceania and second visit to Southern Hemisphere since Cycle 4. The winner was 20-year-old Jaslene Gonzalez from Chicago, Illinois, who notably had made it to the semi-finals of Cycle 7, but was not cast. Jaslene became the first winner without any bottom two appearance.
